Hoping to get there by Thursday evening and get set up for wheeling friday morning. It depends on the other two in the group. May not leave till Friday am. We will stay till Monday. We're trying like hell to get Tool Mans rig done for the trip.

added thursday to my request tonight... If we are really going down on thursday we should try and leave earlier in the day so we are not setting up camp in the dark...

Should have the rear suspension on Tim's rig finished this week. Then the cage is all that's left. |

As long as we don't camp on the gravel again... I think we should camp acroos the creek from where we did last year, over by where Jwend was... I think Tim's rig will make it around there if it is not all wet...

It's always muddy over there. We will see. I'm all for the gravel, but I am sleeping in a trailer. Just pitch your tent on Tim's trailer.

I'll just be better prepared, it really wasn't that bad... If put my tent on Tim's trailer it would be very likely i could fall on my arse crawling out in the middle of the night to go to the potty ... I am also hoping to have a bigger tent this time, something i can stand up in ...

There are showers at the campground in town. http://www.evartskentucky.com/north_...ampground.html Portable crappers are placed around where we camp. I read somewhere there were free shower houses in Evarts somewhere. I have a 10x14 condo tent that was used once. It's easy up and huge. I sleep in the trailer, so I don't really need it. We stay on the mountain, so it's just us and nature. A shower would be nice though... |

Well I plan to leave out Thursday morning ( like to check in around noon) and stay till Sunday. We are staying in the cabins above the gas station on Everts side.

Your right about staying on the Putney side. With the crowd, the narrow trail up and down the mountain is a pain. Thanks for the shower info,I will check into it.The tent you mention,I'm interested...How much?
Hmm, cabins on the Evert's side. Nick

There are lots of different rentals in Evarts. It helps to know people that have rented them before. |

I'm mostly just a lurker, but I thought I'd post up since I'm going to be at Harlan this week-end. I usually stay at the public campground in Everts. I'll be pulling the crawlers down with a motorhome, so I have to have somewhere easy to get to. Hope I get to wheel some with you guys. I'll be in a white XJ with an orange exo and/or an orange buggy. I think I saw some of you at fall crawl lat year.

Gotta admit it's tempting...;) With the high gas prices my budget won't allow a cabin rental this year.

I'll be down there with a small group. My rig, built xj, built tj and couple of built YJ's. Two of the guys are staying on the mountain and the rest of us are behind Dairy Hut.
