Squirt's Transformation
As some of you know i bought a second wheelin rig and call it "Squirt" I bought it for a second wheelin rig as a backup to Splattt if it brakes or for some friends of mine go wheel. I plan it to be just a stock spoa and tractor tires with welded up rear.
Well I will say I got fairly cheap but it had been wheeled extremely hard... it has lovely road signs for body panels and floors... The doors dont really close all that well any more. Windows dont really roll up and down any more.. I added about 5 rattle cans of black paint with about 3 cans of red for some accents... I add some stickers to set off from the rest as it needed any help of that..lol The motor in it did Smoke and knock really bad. So I went out on a search for a cheap motor, which I for a stock one down in Moorehead ky. I drove down to moorehead ky with kyheadhunter1 last week and test drove the sami it was in and the bought it and pulled it out... Today we decided that we need to swap the engine and put in the good one.. All went fairly well with the swap until jim broke a bolt off ont the motor mount bracket...( 2hour setback) we drilled it out and retaped and had to go and pick up new bolts. We felt like we were makeing head way and started to put the new motor back in as jim noticed that pilot bearking in the motor was shot and fell apart inside the flywheel.. so we had another set back to swap out clutch pressure plate and flywheel from the bad motor... After getting all the finished up we fixed the oil leak at the distributor with a new o ring... Now time to re mount the engine back in the sami....after abotu another hour or so to get it all back in.... time to fire it up... pumped the gas a few times and VEEEEERRRRRROOOOOOMMM VEEEEEERRRROOOMMMM fire right up!!!!! there was some vacumn lines that we need to figure out still where they go correctly on this engine but it did runnn pretty good after all the white smoke cleared from it sitting.... Alll in all I am happy righ now that we got the swap finished... I still have to work on brake lines and drive line and t case mounts that we found were broken.... Special thanks to Jim,Kristy,CeeCee, Joey,Joe, Frankie, and Scott for all you help! And now for the pictures thus far yes there are alot: First Day after some red paint Removel of motor: Engine out: Busted motor mount bracket: Joey wanting to help drill it out! Frankie's sami after his buff and wax job adn Joe's lowered truck: New motor installed! Yeah!

well Jim's house is great and the neighbors are too... we have to pick it all up at the end of the night and make it all go away!!!!
as far as the doors, yeah they doo come off really easy, and most people will cut the hinges so they side off faster.. I just put them back on cus i wanted to try to keep the body some what square but the doors really dont fint right any more.. i had to do some beating on the body to get them to work again... as far as the first time out... I still have to put my tractor tires on some rims and swap out the rear drive shaft (bad ujoint) fix some brake issues and t case mounts... like i said before this thing was driven hard and put away wet!!!! the guy who i got it from though trees were brakes!
