Looking for Info On a Jeep

I just picked up an 04 Rubicon from Kings Mazda in Cincy. They told me it was a local trade, so I didn't know if anyone knew anything about it. It's a Light Khaki Metallic color. It's got a BDS suspension lift on it, running 33" BFG ATs on steel wheels. The rear bumper has TKH FAB written on it and it looks like the same person did the nerf bars on the sides. It's definitely been wheeled because there is mud in the seats. If anyone has some info on the Jeep, I would appreciate hearing about it. Seems like a pretty solid rig, but it was used as a Jeep.

Thanks.

Unfortunately not yet. My camera is in my car that's in the shop. If you go to King Mazda's web site, there's a picture of the Jeep there. I'll get some pictures of my own this weekend.

Khaki metallic you say... is it an auto?

Wasn't the arm amputee gentleman that we saw in the woods (trying not to say "1-armed guy").... aaaaa...crap, nope, that was 2003, so it wouldn't have been him driving a 2004.

Terry has to know him to have that much work on his rig...

Here's some pics from Terry's site... either of these the color your talking about?

These are pics from Terry's website... Two different rigs even...

Tires also don't match description... I'm NOT saying that these are the rig in question...

I was asking about the color Truggy, and I also thought that he might recognize more of Terry's work...

The stuff on my Jeep is made out of square tubing, so it's probably early work done by Terry. I will give him a call and see if he knows anything about the Jeep. Thanks for the number. As for the Jeep, it's got the D44s and the diff locks, so it's definitely a Rubicon.

On a side note, I met some of you guys about a year or so ago at a benefit for a little girl. I had a blue 4Runner with about as much flex as my grandmother. I remember there being a restaurant/bar in a little strip mall and there was a big dirt hill that everyone was playing on. Anyway... Hopefully I'll get to hang out with you guys some more and do some wheeling. I've really missed that.

I'm sure it was probably a request... You dream it, Terry will make it very stout.

I'm gonna look back in the pics to see if I can spot your rig...

extended version Cliff Notes for Fabricator...

Trigger wanted some info on a Rubi he just bought... it's got some parts on it from TKH Fab (I've always appreciated Terry's style)... A few of us gave him some info regarding how he could get in touch with Terry @ TKH Fab. Then, I went to Terry's site to see if this Rubi was on the "Customer Rigs" section (just by chance), but no luck. While there, I thought that he might like to see some more of Terry's work... and I was also trying to see what color "Light Khaki Metallic" really was, so I posted up some pics...

Truggy apparently doesn't read my posts, so I asked him to kindly re-read what I wrote after he suggested that we should look up the specs on the Jeep that Trigger just bought fearing he got ripped off... (very nice to be looking out for others, Thank you Truggy)

(Back story: Back in 2003... One of my first wheeling trips, we ran across a guy in the middle of Carb Hill I think it was, that had a "Tan?" semi-built TJ... his buddy was having a really bad day - pronounced 3-4 broken axle shafts, pretzeled shocks, damaged tow rig mirror/door... etc.... turns out this guy in the Tan Jeep was from Kings Jeep??? and I think that Tony (itbrokeagain) just happened to know him. He was pretty easy to describe, as he only had one arm.)

Trigger mentioned that he was at one of the Benefits from years past...

Tony (guessing here) was asking about that guy in the woods... who I think is the same guy that he's thinking... but in the end only related to this story by the word "King's." (As in King's Jeep or King's Mazda which is what made me think of the story.)

And Wilson, being the giving individual that he is... heard the call from Truggy's wacky post about not knowing for sure if it was a "Rubicon" version or not, and he happily offered a CarFax.

That about cover it?

Yes, that about covers it, and the Jeep is the tan color you speak of. I'm not quite sure why they call it Khaki. Must be a Jeep thing.

He was the service manager at Kings jeep for a while I can't remember his name but he was one crazy SOB he then worked for ROY for a while but I believe he moved on since then.

It would have to be an automatic to be his with one arm he could not shift it.

Also if the jeep was sold at kings jeep new mosty likely POR did the lift cause they had a thing going and sold alot of new TJ's with BDS lifts with fancy stickers that stage 2 etc, to make u feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

His name is Tim and yes he is a Crazy SOB. And that pretzeled Jeep Brad spoke of, was the Chrysler rep.

Lets see. If I recall, Brad was upset all weekend because noone told him his truck would get muddy and Carwash and I figured out the trick to getting anyone to try any obstacle you want them to.

Annnnnnd, we're still talking about a guy who is merely tangentially related to this thread... that's awesome. But Jason owes me at least that for what I did to the 205 thread.

Yes, auto I recall.

Only thing I remember, was Andy and "Tim" tandem pulling Chrysler Guy with what would eventually become my rig and said semi-built TJ respectively... and Chrysler Guy screaming about how every Dana35 should be melted down... (which now seems ironic from a Chrysler rep) and he was a complete asshole to his Dad in the passenger seat.

Now THIS is some good fiction Tony... I can't wait to wheel with you again... we should be more evenly matched than ever. (engines anyway)

I know the Jeep has a lift on it, but I'm not sure when it was put on, or where it was done. Any general information on the Jeep, ie problems, reason for getting rid of it, extent of use/abuse, etc.

In the past when I've owned modified vehicles, normally the vehicle is known around the area and folks know something about it. For instance, I have an 06 GTO that I bought off a local guy and some folks from the scene know the car, etc. I'm not trying to get in anyone's crap over it, just didn't know if anyone knew anything about the Jeep.

The Jeep I bought is a 5 speed, so it's not the one that the amputee guy had.

The one Tim was driving was back in March/April 2003, so unless he brought that 2004 back from what was then the future (which is now long past)...

it never could have been that Jeep, which is partially my amusement about the thread going sooooooo far off topic... was fun though.

Edit: :o just realizing that no-one reads my posts... all this info was in my first post...
