491 on 9-26...

<Edit> Rescheduled for 10-3...

I thought Nick was going to post up, but since he hasn't, I guess I will.

(B'sides, I've been recently criticized for insufficient chattification...)

Anyhoo, we're planning a nice casual run to the Critter-den, if anybody'd like to join us!

Robert

Hmmmm How HUMMER friendly is this park? I have been told its very similar to Haspin and better for ATV's. I am not really Too concerned about terrain but more so is it all mudholes and are the trails wide enough?

Well, you're more than welcome to try!

When we were first there in March, the trails were really tight. They've opened up a lot since then, but I think it'd still be quite a challenge to get an H2 through there.

I'd love to see it, though!

if you are going to wheel a hummer you are gonna have to kiss a few trees and rocks sooner or later!!!

My rock tubes know all about kissing trees and rocks. But I really don't like them kissing my body panels lol. Anyway I will be dying to get it offroad ASAP and try out my new front locker that I started the install on tonight. However Rubberduck4x4 may have my truck on that date to be building a prototype over the hood H1 type brush guard for th H2. So I will do my best to make it.

The winch is mounted, should be wired and operational by showtime...

Pics to follow. (I'm pretty proud of it...)

For the time being, I skipped the sideplates I showed you I was thinking about, and just used the mounts I already had.

It's not quite done yet... The angled faceplate is just mocked up with cardboard, and I still plan to modify my old grill guard to fit.

And I think I'm going to separate the remote plug from the solenoid pack, so I can stuff the solenoids under the hood. The owners manual says that if you submerge the sol-pack, you need to replace it, for a cool $311.

I can't imagine they're really that delicate, but I would like to keep it dry.

And since I'll have to rewire everyting to make it work, I'll eventually tap into it for an in-cab controller...

More pics here:

See ya!

That's what I was going for. The winch is right up against the crossmember. The only way to get the angle better would be to move the winch up about 4", to clear the crossmember, then you could push it back about 2", right up against the radiator. But then you'd be completely blocking it.

Or, I guess you could just throw the thing in the back, out of the way, and just whip it out when you need it!

See ya

Dang wish I thought of that.

Mine is ready to wheel.. Wait till you see the carnage on the rear.( Harlan Rocks) I used flat washers to angle the rear bumper down for now . The hatch now closes without catching. I'm gunna have to do some rear crossmember reinforcement. (Winter Project)

For what it's worth, Sunday looks a lot better -- 10% instead of 70.

Would that work for you two?
