it makes a difference if its a regular or grand. the grand is easy under the dash 3 screws unplug the connector and your good. if its a sport its under the hood and they (alldata) are saying that the a.c. will need to be evacuated to relocate the rec/dryer to give you room to remove the blower motor. if that is the case grab a test light and make sure you have power at the blower motor if not check the fuse then the blower resister. if anyone has done this and the a.c. does not have to be evacuated please chime in as i have not personally done this and am going by what alldata says.

Sorry I'm not sure on the 2000..Just went and looked at my son's 99. Sure enough like Scott said the a/c receiver dryer is mounted in the way.. You may try and unbolt the mount and turn the dryer up to clear it.

I looked on NAXJA this was all I could find. Worth reading http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthrea...r+motor&page=2

Good Luck

Nick

Before you go and replace the motor, make sure it's not the speed control relay. I just had to replace mine because it would only blow on high.

Mine only blows on high also. How did you fix it?

From what I understand, the relay is behind the glove box. The fuse panel is in the passenger kick panel

On my TJ, it was behind the glove box, held in by two screws. It's a pretty easy thing to switch out.

Here is a link from Rubicon Owners Forum. Again, this is for a TJ, but I figure it's similar on all other models. The resistor is about $20 at the dealer.

It's actually a resister pack.

On the early ones it's behind the passenger kick panel, below the glove box.

I won't swear it's the same on your 97+, but that's where I'd look first.

I would at least start there. Normally, when the motor doesn't blow and it went away gradually, then it's probably that resistor pack.

the resister is only used for the lower speeds if it doesnt work on high also which it straight thru 12 volts then you have a fuse or motor issue.

Exactly.

Tony said his worked on high, but not the other settings. That'd be the resistor.

Before I pulled it out to replace it I'd touch 12v to it by unplugging it & makign a jumper wire.

I believe your thread has officially been hyjacked by someone else...
