2000 TJ slipping trans

I have a 2000 TJ that i just bought.. My first jeep.. Love it! It has 102k mi.. trans slips going into what seams to be third gear.. What should i do? rebuild? Please help me get this thing figed out so i can spend money where i really want to like a lift and some wheels!

if its' an auto, take it and have the tranny flushed.

trans fluid looks new.. some guys have told me to use lucas-oil's trans fix.. anyone support that recomendation?

Northgate transmissions if it needs rebuilt. Mike Yegar will fix you up. Could just be that it needs tightened to buy it some time or solenoids may be going out also. Leaking around the pan?

leaking around pan meant solenoid issues for me but I am no trans guru!

any idea where & how to change those out? im gona take a crack @ doing it myself.. thanks a whole lot for the help! this web site rocks.. im defntly gona go to a meeting & join the club the first mon. in april..

that TJ doesn't happen to be red and been in a slight accident just prior to you purchasing it ?
