Steering Gear Box Mount - Heavy Duty

I am getting ready to buy a heavy duty steering box from Mountain Offroad, for my `83 CJ7. I noticed they offer a mount that moves the gear box forward 1.5". Why would you want to do this? Is it something to consider? Will it require extending the steering shaft?

Seems to me that you would open yourself to even more damage to your gear box.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with their gearbox mounts? They look pretty nice. They are currently offering 20% off everything.

If you have moved your front axle forward at all, with possibly a spring swap or a redrilled center pin etc, then this would keep your steering geometry correct.
