Ky vehicle title ?
Does kentucky require titles be notorized in order to be transfered like ohio does?

Plus with any out of state sale you will have to have a VTR, just a form showing what was paid for the vehicle.

I also thought out of state required a sheriff inspection?

sounds like I had better call a ky title office and ask questions.
I know PA requires a bill of sale and a notorized title. MI didnt require anything but a signature on the title. Never bought from KY before so I dunno. I just know OH will honor KY's laws on title transfer |

In the county you reside.... I had a cracked windshield (had been that way 18 years) when I tried moving BACK to Kentucky from Ohio the one inspector wanted me to replace it before he would certify it. I took it to the other one in the county and that inspector approved it... (my truck is mainly a trailrig, and the crack is in the bottom 1" of the windshield)

The fj60 i am driving now came from Ky and all i did was take to a local car lot that can do inspections and all he really did was make sure the vin on the truck matched the title, gave me a copy of a little form he filled out and then i went to the title place got it changed and bought tags... no problems at all... no sheriff inspection... this is the 3rd or 4th time i have done it like this over the last 20 years... the seller di have to have the title notarized in Ky too...

I was referring to an out of state vehicle coming into KY. I have no idea about rig's going to Ohio.

Same deal on out-of-state titles coming into Ohio. You have to bring the vehicle and title to the BMV for an inspection. The primary focus appears to be ODO and VIN without any safety/smog inspection. ~30 days later the OH title can be picked up at the office.

To Ohio only requires that the title be filled out, notarized and the mentioned VIN verification inspection completed.

the kentucky notary is different than an ohio though, they just have a notary sign the title, there is no big stamp or anything, so it looks different. when you get it back to ohio you have to have a vehicle inspection on it, take it to any dealer or the dmv and tehy will do it, only takes a minute, they just make sure the title vin matches the vehicle and verify the milage, costs like 3 bucks or something.
