Where to Wheel

This list is definitely a work in progress, because parks do come and go, and details change. But we'll try to keep it as up-to-date as we can.

So I am happy to add, delete, or correct any information. I only ask that we try to keep it to verifiable facts, and legal land, vs "my cousin sez you can wheel here..."

Parks are organized by distance from Cincinnati, nearest first.
(Since we're all spread around the area, I measured from Zip 45217, around 75 and the Norwood Lateral. It seemed like a fairly central point.)

The park titles are links to their websites or facebook pages.
The city and state is a link to the exact location in google maps.
"Trail Map" is a link to, surprise, a map of the park, where available.

Again, I am happy to add, delete, or correct any missing or incorrect parks or information. Just speak up and I'll make the changes, and I'll continue to play with it on my own.

I do welcome any input, I'd like it to be a group effort.

For Windrock, if you are just going there to run the trails you should go to the general store. It is right at the main park entrance and right across the street from the large parking area. Only go to the campgrounds if you are camping or renting one of their cabins.

I've been to Gasline Motorsports a couple of times on quads (buddy lives close). We rode all of the trails in maybe an hour. Lots of big mud holes if you are into that, an actual mud bog/pit that has mud races, and dirt drag strip. Very little challenging trail obstacles. Wasn't a bad time but more of a hang-out type of place and slightly entertaining to watch the mud bog races and dirt drags, then watch some big trucks play in the mud. Also had a live band play one night. Buddy lives 30 minutes away and hasn't been there in years because he is more of a trail rider.

Powerline Park is another place in St. Clairsville, OH (not far off I-70 just before you get to Wheeling, WV. http://www.powerlinepark.com/
Been there a couple of times on quads also (again, buddy lives out that way). I would never go back on a holiday weekend as the place is packed with drunks acting stupid....basically a huge party. The park actually has some potential if you like trail riding on quads or SxS. Most people were hanging out at the mud holes watching the big trucks play in the mud but we went out riding the trails and spent several hours riding and only saw a few people out in the woods. Not a lot of challenging spots but a few spots were a little interesting. Probably wouldn't be bad to go on one of there SxS/ATV specific rides but doubt I would drive that far for it.

Due to my work schedule with limited weekends and time off I won't be able to attend this in the spring, I don't speak for everyone but there would most likely only be a few from the group that would be willing to attend this. Replacing another scheduled trip would most likely be the best option, trying to add another trip on top of what's already scheduled would be highly unlikely.

Trails

Bearwallow kicks butt! Its up there with Harlan for trails. You need to get with Jon Bain and see if he can lead a group. I knows the trails and works with the park. I'm game to go there with someone whenever they want to go. The campgrounds is small but works good.

Following development of "Boneyard Hollow LLC," aka "Boneyard Offroad."

740 acres in Leeco, KY, just south of Slade.

Preliminary price list looks steep, $40/wkd/person, $15 for kids, an extra $30 for primitive camping, $50 for campers. And management seems hostile to input.

But, hey, any opportunity to wheel is a good one, right?
