Well the buggy survived its maiden voyage at the Badlands today. I am hoping to make it Big Rock and hang out with y'all!

Big Rock's facebook page says they're closed to wheeling until further notice, "through at least next week." I posted up asking for clarification...

Maybe DTOR as a Plan B? We won't get a night ride, but I don't know if anybody cleared one with Duke either...

Robert

They were open last year by November. I remember the tough mudder stuff still being there.

I'd really like to see Rush, but probably not for the Tour.

Haspin to Rush is 4hrs and 200 miles, versus 2.5/120 to BigRock, and just 2/80 to DTOR.

But we'll wait n see, maybe worrying over nothing...

Robert

[Edit] It is 80 miles from Haspin to DTOR, going south and taking 421 into KY. However, that bridge currently has 15ton and 36ft limits. I think my Burb and trailer are about 37 feet. If we go around, back to 275, it's more like 120 miles, but still only about two hours...

My inquiry, yesterday at 8:30, "What's up? We've had our CORE Tour scheduled for months, for Nov 1-3. Is there going to be a problem?"

His reply, today at eleven: "Maybe."

Scott, you didn't have any better luck, did you?

Nope. He does not seem too interested.

That's too bad.

So ya'll thinking DTOR as the second leg of the Tour now? Do they have anything going on that weekend? DTOR has primitive camping (no electric) and no bathrooms. Right??

Any place else that might work?

I certainly don't mean to feed the rumor-mill... but I did see a post that mentioned the sale of the Big Rock property... that might help to explain "...and remain so until a future date."

I was of the understanding that the property was for sale, so... if Duke found a buyer... good for him...

My trailer will be at DTOR this weekend, does that earn me any points?

Sohowzabout...

We do Haspin as planned Friday night and Saturday.

Then those that want a full day at DTOR head out and primitive camp there.

Those that would rather have a midnight potty can camp again at Haspin, and join the rest at DTOR in the morning.

Thoughts?

I'm open to any and all ideas...

Robert
