And to think, I just putz around looking for stuck people just for the satisfaction of pulling them out and saying "Have a great day... pass it on."
Classic Scott, absolutely classic...

if i stop to voluntarily help someone, i would never take money from them. If they sought me out, flagged me down, and made me late for something, or if i ruined my dress shoes in the mud helping them, i would think about taking the money, but still wouldn't.
It's like kicking a man when he's down. "Oh look, yer stuck. that sucks man. How bout you pay me $20 to pull you out.. or i could drive on and leave you and your kids stranded." If i ever pull you out on the trail anytime, you better have some cash handy... just kidding man, i just think different i guess. hahahahhaha

When an idiot who has no reason being out buries his car far in the woods, waves me down, half an hour later pull him out, winching, straps, etc... and he puts money in my truck or pockets and demands to pay me I will take it. I save him alot of time, possibly a ticket from where I am from (failure to control from a fairfield cop) and a hefty wrecker bill I think that is not too shabby! When I am out putting my equipment on the line it is nice when someone insists on paying me and realizing my efforts. Never do I demand $! Our last 24'' snow storm a couple of years ago I pulled out a semi on rt4 and he ended up making it home for christmas and called me later to thank me! I am not the ass that drives around looking for abandoned families in stranded cars demanding $.

OK, OK, enough... looks like everyone is out having a good time in the snow, all of a sudden the board got quiet...
I think we're all in the same boat (heheh) here with helping out folks... This is why we do what we do, we enjoy it... I've been forced to accept money as well, and if someone chooses to be forceful about it... so be it. Have a safe and "heated" evening... And may I be the first and hopefully not the last to say "Thanks" to any and all that help others in need, no matter the situation. All the best...

I waited until 6:00 to leave Downtown, was pretty easy drive... what takes 20-25 minutes, took me 35... but I wasn't ABOUT to touch the highways... Just about all Spring Grove...
Here's just something that I came across last night... poopy phone camera... Rear wheel about 10" off the ground... No one around, or I would've at least tried to help them... Actually looked like minimal damage at this point... didn't see it come out... Not touching the telephone pole (by inches) or the house... seems pretty lucky to me... Later in the evening, I passed a big rig that just needed the slightest directional help to get unstuck... was still spinning his tires when I went past... He was only 250 feet past a monster wrecker helping another big rig, so I didn't stop. But I thought to myself... "If I had the Jeep, I would've AT LEAST hooked up to him for fun..."

Jerk, help was there, I could tell he was full, I wasn't going to use my "little" 6000 lb. half ton pickup with the only 2" strap that I could find...
I pulled two others... much smaller vehicles...

Now for the big question. Did you pass out C.O.R.E. business cards with Jeff's name on them to all who you helped?
