  • Tri-state Hobbies Rock Course

I spoke to the guys down there about a rock course for r/c crawlers they were wanting people to show more interest to get one...maybe some donations like rocks tarps etc.they want to make it movable like put the rocks in a garbage can when not in use...so what do you guys think any thoughts?

I have seen kit courses for sale that are very nice and fold up easily and do not require a dump truck to transport. Can't remember where I have seen these for sale but wheeled on the course and had alot of fun.

i already talked to that guy down there and he wasn't very helpful. he wanted everyone to build it, it couldn't be inside(to make it year round) and then he wanted to charge anyone to use it. seems he cares more about his indoor on-road racing more than making money and enter a field that's blowing up in r/c.
I understand the Jeep thing.......that's why i drive a Toyota.

        '91 Toyota truck(3.0 to 3.4 swapped)
"F@#k vacuum lines my truck sucks enough!"

I am sure that you talked to John. He is no longer the owner. As a member of Tri-State Crawlers (R/C Crawlers), the president of our club and myself talked to John about it and you ar correct as all he cared about was the $$$. Tht is why he no longer owns the hobby shop. When I found out that the hobby shop had new owners, I talked to them about it and they seemed to be up for it. I just cannot see gathering all of the rock and building it, only to be charged to play on it. I would put the rocks in my back yard and crawl whenever for free.

I also and good friends with the owner of Hamilton Hobbies. He told me that I could do something outside there and would not charge anyone to run on it as he feels that it would draw in business. I mentioned holding some competitions and he was all for it. I Am all about doing something here but have had no luck finding anyone that wants to help.

I have been into R/C for 20 + years and into R/C Crawling for about three. If there is anything that I can do to help, please ask. I would be more than willing to help out.

Also I am going to a Costume crawl this Sunday in Indy if anyone wants to tag along. For more info, check out theroxbox.com. This is an indoor/outdoor crawling facility that I helped build and it is awsome.

Again, please feel free to contact me if there is anything that I can do.

          Thanks,
          Dan

Is Tri State in the old Ultra Racing building? I raced there until Ultra closed and haven't raced since.
