  • Measuring for shocks

Do you just measure compressed and extended with the springs out and pick a shock? Why do people flex the trucks-jeeps-buggys to measure them?

    Thanks Tim

You need to simulate the cycle your rigs suspension will see .. if you build around droop testing and plan on fully articulating your ride on the trail then you'll end up dissapointed.

Shocks don't last long being used as bump stops or limiting straps... worst part is they kill your on-trail performance until you bust the mount or pull the piston off.

      Edit: trail rig I assume?

It kinda depends on where your bump stop is located in relation to your shock mounting point.
