  • School me on battery isolators

Found one at Oreillys for $30 good for 95 amps. I guess my main question is when my main battery goes dead does it automatically switch over for starting?

No an isolator doen't work that way, you would have to switch your battery leads around...

The way i understand it an isolator splits your charging lead and will not let the batteries back feed/drain the other battery if one goes dead... At least that what the set up in my 60 does... Also almost every isolator robs the charging wire of 1 amp...
