Need a piece of pipe ripped
I have a piece of 4" schedule 40 pipe that I need ripped in half. It is 9 ft. long. Does anyone know of a place where I can have this done?

Schedule 40 plastic or metal pipe?

For what someone will charge you to do this, you could damn near buy yourself a metal cutting circular saw and do it yourself.
If you have a buddy with a plasma, put a straightedge on there and cut it up. Or any metal shop should be able to help you... Spring Grove Sheet Metal maybe? |
How perfect does it need to be? I can do it at work(on 741 in mason) but it won't be to machinist specs.

It does not need to be to machinist specs. This piece of pipe is 9 ft. long I do need it pretty straight. What I need is someone with a big ban saw. Nuts this help would be GREATLY appreicated! How do I get ahold of you to get this cut?

I have a tubing cutter that should do it.
|
Do you mean cut down the middle, as in turning the pipe into 2 long "C" shaped pieces?
FYI - I've seen some people try this with smaller tubing and it always curled up some (did not stay flat). Not sure if the schedule 40 would do that or not. |

I have a PM into NUTS to take him up on his offer but have not heard back yet. |
Its gonna look like a banana, but would be easy enuf to straighten back out
|
I found a laser cutter and dropped it off.

I'll be curious to see how it turns out as I considered using this method for body protection on my rig (half of a tube/pipe welded along the body seams).

It turns out well. What I am doing is nothing new in the HUMMER world. According to most H1 owners its the "first thing" you do to an H1 if you are going to offroad it. Looks like this.

so you got this done then ? i know rubberduck has a set up to do it if you still need it.

Very funny Scotty lol.
