You can get a matched aw4/231 from a cherokee for cheap. I have $200 in mine. Go with a '91-later to get the stronger 23-spline version
2wd  converted to 4wd

It is down to $750.
Buy a 4wd '91-newer XJ for cheap and transfer everything over to upgrade this Renix 2wd to HO 4wd. You could have a neat piece for less than $2k |
