External fuel pump

Hey,
Does anyone know of any affordable external fuel pumps for EFI.
I put a fuel cell in my XJ but, still need a fuel pump. I don't really need a high performance pump on a stock 4.0L.

Maybe somehow reuse stock pump in fuel cell.

Auto Zone has the Mr Gasket 12 electric fuel pumps for around 30 bucks. I was looking at the small one for a spare for my Polaris.

Find out the psi that you need and then buy yourself a good one. Tour summit online for one. Don't scrimp on it, buy a decent one or it will be crazy loud and fail on you. Problem with these pumps is that they do not hold up well to the bouncing and banging of offroading. I went thru a bunch when i had the holley pro-craption, then finally blew a good chunk on a nice one and never had another problem.

Ford had an inline EFI pump. I think the part# is E2000. I had one sitting around I was going to use before I went BACK

to propane. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

Or you could cut a hole in your cell and use your stock pump . This is what I did on the YJ and works great and the price was right.

This is my recomendation as well. Inline pumps suck unless they are gravity fed normally.

I used pumps from a 1992 ford bronco on custom setups and never had any problems. And you can go to any auto parts store and replace it.

Yes, this is a big deal as well, getting a pump that you can replace at a parts store.

Thanks, Everyone for all the help.

I may try the E2000 pump. It is about $35. on ebay and offroad reviews seem to prove its reliable and somewhat quiet.

Just make sure you have a pump that will deliver around 40 psi to avoid fuel starvation. your injectors are factory regulated at around 30-31 psi.

I found mine, its pretty much brand new,30 bucks and I can drop it off at chris' house tonight or tomorrow...

the e2000 is the same one that truggy is talking about too, it is used on all small block ford trucks i believe. i had one mounted on my old jee as a backup to my factory pump, and have used them on lots of small block chevy swaps. never known one to go bad on teh trail, although i do keep my spare from the old jeep in my tool bag just in case someones does go bad.

I gave Chris your pump today, and F.Y.I. it was putting 62.5 psi unregulated when i took it off just before halloween
