I'm hoping to go back in May, 2009. There is unbelievable primitive camping in the parks there. I don't think a day trip on the trails needs supplemental fuel unless you have a small fuel cell. Water is what is usually in short supply. I rented a Jeep last year and posted these photos over at TS.

i will go spring next year, not during EJS, but prolly a couple weeks after.

Here's my shots from last trip.

It's 25 hours drive time about... 2 days. We usually hit denver on the first day in 18 hours, then take the next day to go thru the mountains.

i would love to go out there, cant seem to drum up any interest in my buddies. i drove 9 hours to tellico just to have our organizer decide that one day (6 hours trail time)was enough. yeah, it stunk. if i could get a couple of guys here to go, id be there. Would be the trip of a lifetime, for sure.
ps- those photo's are awesome!
