Cool Fuel guage questions.

I want to put an aftermarket fuel guage in my Jeep. The tank I have is from a 94 Yj. I believe the sending unit has 33 ohms full and 240 ohms empty. Can anyone confirm this? The tank is probably about 3/4 full right now and I get a reading of about 100 ohms.

Also I want to make sure I am testing it right. On the back of the guage I have now (it is the wrong one thats why I want the correct one), I have a wire from the sending unit, and what I believe to be a ground wire and a 12v power source. I went to ground and to the lead from the sending unit which gave me my reading of 100 ohms. Does it sound like I did the right thing?????
