Ohio Gun laws?
so we had a couple questions come up in my class the other day about gun laws. In ohio is it legal for parents to gift handguns to their child that is 18 or over? A few kids in the class said they have done this but I'd much rather hear it from someone who knows. From the laws we read in class, you can't buy a handgun until 21, but it says it is leagl to carry at 18.

Have to be careful with gun laws... They change on a regular basis ,local and city laws vary too...
This link seems to answer the handgun question. http://crime.about.com/od/gunlawsbys...gunlaws_oh.htm Good Luck Nick

I searched a bit and couldn't come up with a definite answer. Usually if you can't buy it (which an 18 yr old can't), you can't own or be in possession of it. I'd say play it safe for now and wait until he/she is 21.
21 will arrive soon enough. At least for you. Maybe get'em a nice tacticle shotgun in the mean time. |
