Select-trac transfer case issues

It was fine all morning then all of a sudden it felt like it wasnt in full time 4wd. Put it in part time and it didnt really go in too well. It went in but it took some forward and reverse action. Put it back in full time and I could feel it pulling a little but not like it did then nothing. Part time still works.

Your description is a little vague as to what it is doing...what do you mean by "feel it pulling"?

The NP242 is pretty simply. The full-time mode just engages an open differential in the t-case between the front and rear, while part-time just locks the differential. If you mean "pulling" as in feel likes you don't have power to the front wheels then it's probably a gear selector issue in which it is not coming out of 2wd mode. If the whole vehicle is not "pulling", like the transfer is slipping, in full-time mode than maybe the differential is failing.

Up until a few hours ago when it was in full time, it felt like "true" 4wd. It doesnt feel like the front is engaging.
