tv makes me mad....
ok, does eveyone else wonder this too?
why does tv programming include the dumbest shows: westminster dog show, tennis, golf, and everything related. But rock crawling/ offroad tech is limited to once a week on xtreme 4x4 and speed channel. i know im biased toward gearhead stuff, but dosent it seem like a offroad trail/ race/ tech show would draw more audiences than what i mentioned above? would people REALLY be more interested in watching instant replays of a golf ball going in a hole? Shows go by ratings, and advertisers promote them, right? who spends more money with companies, tennis players, or off roaders? i spent almost $12,500 in 09 on off road stuff, and almost $9k in 08. tell me my freinds in triple crown spend that on golf or tennis. so, as you can tell, im flipping thru the channels tonight trying to find something good. and it aint happening. |

Top Truck Challenge replay on the Outdoor channel Monday, poor coverage though.

The sheer number of folks playing tennis and golf far outweigh those of us wheeling, therefore I would venture to say more money is spent every year on these sports than we spend on wheeling.

X2, there are 4 people at work that play golf, and everyone but me watches "ball sports", I'm the only one thats into 4x4s or anything with a motor so I'd say all those @$$ holes spend more money on their lame hobbies than I do on mine...

TV selection sucks way beyond the lack of any real motorsports programs. Programming in general appeals to the lowest common denominator. I find myself more and more turning from the Big 3 networks and watching stuff on History, Discovery, HGTV, Food Network and even Smithsonian. At least you can learn something from them. I have a few shows that I watch on a regular basis on CBS like NCIS and Criminal Minds, but for the most part, I can do without them. Reality shows absolutely make me sick. I don't get the appeal of them. I don't care about the Kardashians, or who's getting plastic surgery, or some spoiled housewife, or some 16 year old girl that's pregnant. To me, those shows are what's wrong with society. Everybody is so into worrying about what other people are doing that they fail to deal with their own issues. Oh, and if I ever saw one of those beauty pageant moms that force their daughters into looking like little skanks in order to impress some 50-year old pervert judge out in public, I'd probably slap the piss out of them on principle. To me, that's nothing short of child abuse.
OK, I feel better now. |

I've been using rabbit ears for over 20 years now. I bet I watch 2-3 hours of TV a week. But generally I have no shows that I'm drawn too. I like to watch the biggest loser while eating chips and cheese on Tuesdays, however; if I miss it, oh well. I keep telling my wife I could live without a television in the house. But that would mean she wouldn't be around to make me my chips and cheese so I guess it will have to stay. For now.

Everybody looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell them that I don't have cable or dish. I guess to them, they have a right to life, liberty and 499 useless channels.

Not a fan of TV shows (Trigger you got it) . Usually have to be pretty low on things to do before I hit the power button to watch anything. Gravitate more toward movies when I do though.
I do like NCIS though I don't go out of my way to watch it (although I'm pretty sure the only reason I watch it is Mark Harmon :) )

Others that don't have cable I thought I was all alone too.
I figure that gives me about 100 bucks a month to blow on Polaris parts. The Olympics have kept me entertained this week. There are some hotties on there. |
