All hiking trails are officially open as of 8am Friday, July 02.

WATCH FOR BEARS!!!!

It is actually open to foot travel. I'd like to see it again myself but I get pretty lazy without my truck. The Sheltowee(spell?? Trail runs from the park at Natural Bridge up to the entrance of the Narrows, and then forever from there.

They have bear warning/safe camping hints signs posted all over the place. It's just common sense anyway. Enjoy the area if you come down. The bears have been here for a long time, this is just an instance of two territory's overlapping and repercussions.(SP?)

Black bears have poor eyesight and they will get close to you until they see you. Then when they do most will retreat, the one I encountered in Penn. did when it got close enough to see me.

They say if you are hiking in bear country to make lots of noise.
