chevy d44 ball joint question???
i'm installing new (everything) and on the upper ball joint, the threaded sleeve that goes into the "C" of the axle, how far do i thread this? flush on top or bottom? ball joints say they are a "zero degree" camber - from napa
also, when you get front end alignment do the shops adjust this sleeve? thanks for any help - ryan |

I have 44's and I had to put a jack under the bottom of the knuckle to hold it in place in the c's torque the lower ball joint and the castle nut with a ball joint spanner wrench then torque the upper nut and put the cotter pin in. Can't remember the ft/lbs off hand and you need a special socket you can get it at napa. As far as alignment my jeep is trail only so I have no clue. Hope this helps I can get the torque specs if you still need them

Yea I can fit a 1-1/8" wrench for the bottom joint and I don't need a spanner wrench for the upper threaded sleeve as I already got it in place as I used a brake parts tool to wrench it in and finished it off with hammer and screw driver. The sleeve is adjustable up and down and I just wondered where is a good starting point to set the sleeve at.
