I know you're on the road now, and may have solved this already anyway, but...
There's a guy over on Pirate, "Meiser," who builds some truly top-notch stuff. He uses and swears by a product called DEI. $114 for a 42x48 sheet, I'm sure smaller pieces are available. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dei-050503/overview/
