severed my big toe last night and crushed the bone. Gonna try to make it, but it looks grim. Doc says to not put pressure on it for 8 weeks.

As long as it was your Brake foot and not your Gas foot you should be OK.

My daughters birthday is today, so last night I was assembling a basketball pole for her and with sandals on (brace yourself for my ignorance becuz it gets sick) I was ramming an 8 foot steel pole down on the concrete to connect the 3 poles together when my big toe got in the way. I was throwing all of my weight into it and the pole was a very thin wall. (kind of like a knife edge) Broke the bone and severed 80 percent of it. When I pulled the sandal off and saw the toe danglin and a bone inside I knew I screwed up. Gonna be hard to make the trip to livingston cuz my wife has me chained down to the couch.

Wow! The things we do for our young ones!!! I hope all turns out well. Take advantage of that being chained to the couch, you could have a honey-do list a mile long otherwise, LOL. Take care and let us know how you're doing.
