Livingston

While I've not been there, I have heard many stories. Saw this on another board, figured it should be here too.

Not a word mentioned of the logging that has stripped the side of mountains down there.

No mention of all the oil drums and pails laying by their logging equipment that seem to get left behind and the trash from the locals that clubs go down to clean up. DAWGONIT! :(

I had forgotten about the sections that had been clear cut and we get all the blame.

The land that was logged was private property and most of the erosion reports came out long before cutting started.

The reason Livingston closed is pretty simple , changing times! The land tracts changed hands down through generations of families , went from country people living on the property to the grand-kids who saw the big $$$ available in the timber and mineral rights. For the true Livingston veterans who remember how large the area was back in the late 70's it's sad to see it totally closed down.
