Cork gaskets

How do you seal cork gaskets? Do you use a sealant or do you put them on dry? Just wondering. I am working on my tractor and it has cork gaskets.

Thanks for your input.

I always run a thin film of rtv with the cork to be sure.... and do not over tighten that is why most gaskets leak.
