Chrysler auto trannies keep the rebuilders in business. I was told this from Aamco last time I did a service call there

if your planning on building some torque get a p-pump 12v (94-early 98) with the nv4500 (5spd) easier and cheaper mods for the p pump engines. nv4500 is cake to work on.
Cummins is the small block chevy of the diesel world, cheap power and everyone and their mom sells aftermarket parts for it. BUT the guys who i went to school with were forever tinkering on their cummins's. Us stroker guys just turn the key and drive. Cummins is for the guy who likes to tinker on his truck once a week. just my honest opinion.

Not looking to build a performance truck, just a nice stock driver and tow rig.

Most every piece of heavy equipment, dozers, etc. including most tractor trailers use inline 6 cummins engines!
Newer turbo Diesels get better gas milage especially when towing and kicks a gas motors but on mpg when towin a RIG. |

We'll let you slide on the Komatsu sine there first dozers did use a cummins engine. Like was stated everyone else uses their own engines.

I've always been a huge cummins engine fan.... So any truck with a cummins is a plus in my book.I've heard the same about the chrysler auto trannys.

I just looked through the online specs and my printed specs for CAT equipment and can't find a single mention of a Cummins motor. They had CAT C3.3, C3.4, 3054C, 3056E, 3512, 3516, ACCERT C9, C11, C13, C15, C18, C27, C32, C175. I just cant find a single reference to a cummins motor in a CAT. The little excavators have Mitsubishis in them though. If you can point me to a model that does have a Cummins, please show me.http://www.cat.com/engines
