Transmission help needed

Well something happened to Miranda's transmission a couple weeks ago. Its a 2001 Dodge Stratus with a 3.0 V6 auto, but it uses a Mitsu engine and trans. I took it out and then replaced the front oil pump because the housing cracked. So when I put everything back together the engine wouldn't turn, as if putting the trans n the engine locked the two together. I dont think the torque converter can lock everything up but thats what seems to happen. The engine will spin freely with the torque converter bolted to it since its a flywheel/TC combo. When I took the trans off the car would start and what not but would pump out all the fluid out. So the engine wont turn sicne i have replaced the front ump. Could I have lined up something worng causing it to lock up. Also I know I the trans would rotate and its not out of park or nuetral when I try and restart it. Is there a reason for liek a lock out or something restricting it from starting or have I line something up wrong?

Any help would be awesome.

------>

Yeah I tried the trans in different gear but seems like something is locked up on purpose. Anyone know if something electrical happens? And I have to reset something some how?

------>

Well I am right the solenoids are locking it up. They are buzzing and I think they are trying to release but can't because there is no fluid or pressure. So any hints? Can I prime the trans or anything?

Anyone fimiliar with newer Tranaxles out of dodges or Mitsu's?

I'm thinking you may have the torque convertor clocked wrong in the trans.Causing it to not drop all the way in the trans.When you bolted eveything together it put it in a bind.

Good Luck

But what gets me is that the solenoids are buzzing when I turn the car to start. I have found some info online about when the solenoids aren't seeing any fluid they won't release.

Is the starter actually engaging and trying to turn the engine but can't? Or is it not engaging at all like a neutral safety switch is on?

The starter is engaging and it isn't jammed or anything. I can't turn the engine over with a 3 foot beaker bar on the crank pulley.

I wonder if you pinched a wire and is grounding out the torque converter lock up control. If the converter was locked up then you wouldn't be able to start the car........but that is just a wild guess.

If I get the chance we have a couple experienced Dodge mechanics I will try to talk to.
