offroadohio.com/the rock
anyone on this site ever venture over 2 offroadohio.com???????
they have discussion/post tryin to get some hardcore rigs together 2 rent THE ROCK for the day/weekend. i think this would be bad ass, even for 75-100 dollars. we would save double that in gas form a KY. trip and get 2 play on a ex-pro course. just putin this info out there in case anybody else thinks the same....besides im not sure i'll ever get opportunity 2 flop on a man made spray crete course http://offroadohio.messageforums.net....php?f=8&t=513

Have you ever seen "The Rock" in person? It's only maybe 50' x 150' if my memory serves me correctly.......point being I'm only 45 minutes away and don't know if I would even bother taking my rig there if it were free. In my opinion even with a full tube rock buggy you would get bored after about an hour or two because you would have tried everything at least twice. I wouldn't even think about taking a non-tube buggy over 75% of the course.
But again that is my opinion, and I will say that I'm not big into rock crawl comps, and I don't have a tube buggy by any means. |

You must have one hell of a buggy if you can do all of it in an hour. My main question would be. Will there be an all terrain fork lift there to pick the rigs out of the crevices????

thats what im talkin bout its gota be worth a 2 hour ride up there even if it is small and me not having a buggy it should be some what of a challenge.....ive just never had "clean" traction like that b4 everything we ride has mud then u get slimy rocks. I'd like 2 see if its as sticky as pink rock!

Count me in for a trip up there. It is small, so you'd have to think of it like a skate park and look for your own lines instead of just following everyone else.

I'm trying to get more info on it and have offered to help if they need it. But trying to walk the fine line between helping them and taking over the idea (you know trying not to offend everyone I meet).
Looking through the post, it was $1000 rental for the park for a day, so the logistics come about breaking it up between people. Can't remember if that number was 2008 or 2009. But there are a few things that are discussion worthy since it appears we have the interest (probably 10-12 vehicles between boards). Deal would be once we get the day rental rate then someone coordinating everything after that point. I'll reach out to someone and see what I can find out. I'll keep you informed as I know.

Jake at offroadohio.com says that discussions are already in process with the owners of The Roc for this to happen. Their concerns center around insurance (apparently). They are discussing it and working on possible timing/cost for us (us is now the folks at offroadohio.com and CORE for those keeping track).
I offered to run with it once we have the when and how much from them and he's good with that. So once we get some details from them, we can go from there. More to come..
