Electric trailer brakes

I keep pinching the wires inside the drums and shorting out the trailer. The wires are all in their retaining clips and I tried to route them out of the way but I guess I didnt do good enough. Any ideas????

You could just drill a hole in the back plate so the wires go staight out of the drum that is how ours is set up and it works very well.
