New 30' trailer

Well I picked up an nice 30' trailer with 6k axles and brakes on one axle, needs deck and wiring. Was a Piner,KY tornado trailer so they just ripped all the junk off and sold it...
good for me..

I have been putting the deck on it, boy there are alot of drilling and wrenching.
I will be looking around for some 5x5 trailer rips and tires..I believe they are old jeep rims... but need to be smaller than 31" cus they will hit the deck..so 29" might be good...

The ramps on my 18' dovetail car hauler are 60" long and 17" high when the trailer is hitched up to the F350.
So the math is angle = (17 / 60) sinh = 28.7 degree angle
18" high and it would be an even 30 degree

So keep the ramp angle close to 30 degrees and your good.

Lets see some pics!!!

Buddy of mine has a trailer that is converted from an rv/house trailer, etc. It's great but i amazingly flexy and unsolid. He has had to do some serious bracing on it to make it not so flexible. Do some of that before you finish all the wood on it. He ran some 3x3x.50 angle down each side and it helped a bunch.

YEAH MIGHT HAVE TO DO THAT TOO.. with out the wood it bounced around on old cj tires and rims.. looking for smaller ones so i can put wood over the wheels...
did he brace it down the long side or across or in all the corners?

Run down the long side the whole way with angle, and then do some angle across it as well. I hate to tell ya, but yer gonna have a lot of money in that thing trying to stiffen it up. Or just run it as is, the stuff you haul is pretty light isn't it?
