cj alternator upgrade

Just thought i would share the easy upgrade i just did to my cj. I used a alt from a 88 chevy caprice.part # 01-0381 @ oreillys. It is the cs130. Already had a v belt pulley on it. I did have to index the alt one hole clockwise (from back) and the bottom bolt hole is a thru hole, but a 5/16 grade 8 bolt and nut fits.

This is the adapter plug i used. It has the resistor. They also have one without a resistor if thats what you need. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=190604160052

With my headlights, fog lights, fan on high and heater on high maintained 14 volts on my gauge

I know there are bigger alternators out there but i didnt have to modify any bracket. Hope this helps
