tj wipers dont work

I have a 99 tj amd well the wipers don't turn on. At first I would have to give the wipers ARM a little pull and they would work. Then a little while later nothin at all. Recently i put a switch in and still nothing, the fuse is good. So I'm thinking I need to replace the motor. Any other ideas

If you had give them a boost before, I would say the motor was on its way out.

Yea ive had the cowl apart to check the motor before and magically the day I checked it it worked fine. That was a long time ago.

Are xj motors the same as the tj?
