This is what the fees were based on. Now, localities are allowed to add their own fees as well.

I don't know what to say to 83bronco, you got really lucky. I had a 96 F350 4x4 PSD and was charged about the same as you but for 1 year. I now have a Silverado 2500HD and am charged the above (up to 3/4 ton) rate.

For the Insurance, I have the same company and pay +/- $10 per 6 months

SRW versus DRW? If I was only pulling trailers and such, I would opt for duals, but since I go offroad with the truck, I felt that SRW was a better option.

It could be because it is registered as a passenger vehicle and i'm not changing it. I'm not doing any but driving it and pulling a trailer every once in a while.

The dually is to darned big, and unecessary for me. I guarantee ya my wife would take out a fender within a week. The difference between the two is minimal in many cases, one of which may be a better ride, which in the real world of actual use is what I'd prefer.

Yeah, I lived in KY for a long time. It definately stunk paying property and use tax on a vehicle every year. That is why my dad drives crap. Registration only cost him $18/yr.
